Mehmet Eryilmaz observed that Web3 allows artists to better represent their heritage through movies and music by allowing them to properly display it. While the entertainment and production industry is largely controlled by Western countries, shows like The Squid Game provide a chance for non-Western films to succeed on the worldwide stage.
An expert in the entertainment industry believes that creators in developing markets could find more success with some help from Web3. Mehmet Eryılmaz, CEO of the Faro Company which focuses on entertainment through Web3, shared his thoughts on how he thinks Web3 can positively contribute to the growth of entertainers in new countries.
The executive stated that media and entertainment companies have been long-term sufferers of gatekeepers. These are the people who often fail to accurately depict other cultures. According to Eryılmaz, Web3 can help those from less commonly known cultures properly display their traditions through music and film so they have an equal chance at being recognized globally.
The executive thinks that fractionalization of investments enabled by Web3 technology, which allows anyone to become a co-owner of content, will change the media landscape for the better. Eryılmaz went on to explain that Web3 is the beginning of what he refers to as an ownership economy, which employs technology to share economic value with people all over the world. He also mentioned that Faro Company was created for the reasons he previously mentioned and uses Web3 to address the issues he outlined.
Faro’s mission is to tell original local stories, showcasing diverse storytellers and talent from all over the world. The executive shared that their team believes in a future where creators have equal opportunity to share their stories, no matter where they are from.
